    A record of 10 million people diagnosed with positivity in the past seven days which is almost twice those diagnosed the week before as Omicron spreads to many parts of the globe.

  • First 12 cases in Bulgaria

    The first 12 cases of contagion from the Omicron variant of the coronavirus have been recorded in Bulgaria. As reported by the regional media, citing local health authorities, most of the cases concern the capital Sofia. The infected have mild symptoms and no one has been hospitalized. Bulgaria is among the European countries with the lowest percentage of vaccinated against covid.

  • India, cases almost tripled in one week

    India recorded nearly 130,000 coronavirus cases in the week that ended yesterday (December 27-January 2), 182% more than the 46,073 infections of the previous week. According to reports from the Times of India, this is the strongest increase ever seen since the start of the pandemic. The previous record weekly increase (+ 71%) dates back to 5-11 April 2021, recorded during the second wave of Covid in the country.
