There are 54,762 new coronavirus positives at 5 pm on Saturday 25 December and bring the total, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 5,622,431. The deaths, in the last 24 hours, were 144 so as to total 136,530 units from February 2020 to this part. There are 1,071 patients in intensive care in Italy, 33 more than the Christmas Eve in the balance between entries and exits. Daily admissions are 106. Patients with symptoms in the ordinary wards are 8,892 (Friday they were 8,812), or 80 more. Exceeded the threshold of 500 thousand currently positive. In fact, 500,466 Italians are currently positive, with an increase of 39,792 in the last 24 hours. This is the picture that emerges following the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health, elaborated on the basis of 969,752 swabs carried out against 929,775 on Friday 24 December. The positivity rate is 5.6%, up from 5.4% the previous day.
Veneto, 5,402 cases and 24 deaths
Another day of record-breaking infections in Veneto: +5,402 new positives in 24 hours, plus 24 victims. The bulletin of the Region reports it. The count of infected people since the beginning of the pandemic exceeds the 600 thousand threshold: since February 2020, 605,341 people have been infected by the virus; deaths rise to 12,281. Compared to Friday, the resignations of Covid patients from ordinary wards have increased: the number of beds occupied is 1,188 (-25). However, the situation of intensive care has worsened, with 174 hospitalized (+11). The number of people currently positive in the region is growing strongly, 69,386 (+ 2,388).
In Campania 4,837 positives
There are 4,837 new Covid positives in Campania out of 77,269 tests examined. The incidence dates back to 6.25% compared to 5.93% on Friday. Nine new victims recorded in the bulletin of the Region’s Crisis Unit: 6 in the last 48 hours and 3 previously died but recorded yesterday. The number of places occupied in intensive care is returning, albeit slightly, to 31 (minus 1); those in hospital are growing strongly, 495 (plus 38).
In Lazio 4,171 infections and four deaths
In Lazio, out of 25,520 molecular swabs and 76,529 antigenic swabs for a total of 102,049 swabs performed, 4,171 new positive cases are recorded (+696), 4 deaths (-7), 947 hospitalized (+26), 129 intensive care (+3) and +845 the healed. The ratio of positives to swabs is 4%. The cases in Rome city are at 2,047.
Piedmont, 3,756 new cases
The Crisis Unit of the Piedmont Region reported 3,756 new cases of people who tested positive for Covid-19 (of which 2,395 after antigen tests), equal to 6.2% of 60,530 swabs performed, of which 48,701 antigenic. Of the 3,756 new cases, 2,699 were asymptomatic (71.9%). The cases are broken down as follows: 2,452 screenings, 980 case contacts, 324 with ongoing investigation. The total of positive cases becomes 452,043, divided as follows on a provincial basis: 36,406 Alessandria, 21,767 Asti, 14,620 Biella, 64,132 Cuneo, 34,972 Novara, 240,176 Turin, 16,011 Vercelli, 16,595 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, as well as 1,908 residents outside the region but in charged to the Piedmontese health facilities. The remaining 5,456 are under development and territorial assignment.
