Corona outbreak in the German Olympic team: Shortly before the opening ceremony of the Winter Games in Beijing, six athletes tested positive for the corona virus.
As the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOBS) announced, there are six athletes from the ice hockey, Nordic combined and skeleton teams.
The DOSB assumes that the affected Nordic combined athletes are fresh infections, while the others are hoping for old ones. The ice hockey team is particularly hard hit: All players are considered at least close contact and are therefore in isolation.
It was only on Wednesday that there was a first positive case among German athletes in figure skater Norman Seegert.
