Olympics 2026, day 14
German gold in sight? This is what Olympic day brings
02/20/2026 – 12:00 a.mReading time: 3 minutes

On the 14th day of the 2026 Olympic Games, eyes will be particularly focused on the biathletes as they start their final competition. But other interesting decisions are also pending. The schedule at a glance.
While the biathlon men say goodbye to the Olympics, the two-man bobsleigh pilots are just getting started. Today it is important to lay the foundation for further German medals. t-online gives an overview of where and when things get exciting.
2.15 p.m. – Biathlon: 15 km mass start men
In the biathlon the final decision is made today for Philipp Nawrath, David Zobel and Philipp Horn. Justus Strelow is only a replacement if one of the qualified biathletes has to cancel his start. None of the three starts as favorites: Nawrath narrowly missed out on a medal in the individual in fifth place, while Horn finished the sprint in tenth place. Zobel came 21st in the individual.
It will therefore be difficult to beat the strong competition from Norway, France and Sweden. The top favorites are Johan-Olav Botn (individual gold), Éric Perrot (individual silver) and Sturla Holm Laegreid, who has already won three medals at the Games. Quentin Fillon Maillet (sprint gold), Vetle Christiansen (sprint silver), Émilien Jacquelin (pursuit bronze) and Martin Ponsiluoma (gold pursuit) are also candidates for a podium place.
4.40 p.m. – Ice hockey: Canada – Finland, semi-final men
Gold favorite Canada will meet Finland, the 2022 Olympic champion, this afternoon. The path to the semi-finals was not without difficulty for both of them. Canada only won the quarterfinals against the Czech Republic in overtime on Wednesday and may have to be without center Sidney Crosby today, who had to leave the ice injured. The Finns also had to go into extra time in their quarter-final against Switzerland. The Swiss and vice world champions were in the lead for a long time. Finland was only able to equalize shortly before the end, and then they scored the winning goal in overtime. Canada is now the favorite in the game against Finland.
6:00 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. – Bobsleigh: Two-man bobsleigh women, runs 1 and 2
The first two of a total of four runs for the women in the two-man bobsleigh will take place this evening. It’s important to get yourself into a good starting position. The favorite for gold is Laura Nolte with her pusher Debora Levi, with whom she won gold in Beijing four years ago. In the past, the duo has often had the best start times, and they should be able to do that again today.
Kim Kalicki and pusher Talea Prepens also have a very promising start. Prepens has only been active in winter sports for a few months; she is actually a track and field athlete and is successful in sprints. In their first appearance together, the duo took second place in December and won bronze at the European Championships in January. The third duo in the German league are Lisa Buckwitz and Vanessa Mark, who became world champions in 2024, ahead of Nolte and Kalicki.
