A horrific sight was seen at the LVM Saarland Trofeo cycling competition organized in Germany on Sunday, June 14. The video shot at the event proves that an elderly woman drove an electric rollator onto the competition route, causing a heavy crash. The crash happened on the fourth and last stage of the race, where I saw a total of 18 dropouts.

The video shows how the contestants drive towards the intersection at high speed, until a woman pushes through the crowd towards the road. The first cyclist who got into the line of fire still had time to dodge the rollator, but the cyclist behind him was no longer able to do the same.

He flew over his pole to the side of the road at a breakneck speed. The event causes a crash of several bikes.

Although the situation looked wild, the British newspaper The Telegraph, for example, says that everyone involved survived the situation without major injuries.

The first driver to hit the woman was the Dutch 17-year-old Paul Vriesman. He later said on his Instagram account that he was fine.

– A nasty-looking crash, but it seems that I survived the situation relatively well and without major injuries, he said.

– This was not the way I wanted to end my first week of competition after a long rehabilitation. I took big steps to regain my old energy, Vriesman regretted afterwards.

Vriesman regretted that he interrupted because of a woman “who only lived in her own worlds”.

There is no more detailed information about the woman’s condition after the incident.
