The plot of Sleepless nights, kisses for breakfast
Matteo (Alessio Vassallo) is a technician of the municipal administration of a small province, but he has the dream of becoming a cartoonist. When he meets Paola (Ilaria Spada), a famous comic book writer, her life changes radically: the two fall in love and put up family. From their union they are born Virginia, Ginevra and Melania.
Paola and Matteo they have reached a strange balance: it is Matteo who takes care of the house, taking the girls to school and changing them. Paola in fact he has no time: he writes at night and deals with his first novel. Between moments fun and routine Ten years have passed in which Matteo has put his professional dream aside, dedicating himself mainly to the role of father.
The meeting with a former colleague who works in a French publishing house makes mammo want to get to work again: perhaps the time has come to realize that dream that has remained closed in a drawer for too long. His decision will cause some upheaval in the family balance.

Sleepless nights, kisses for breakfast is an adaptation of the 2016 Einaudi best-seller of the same name Matteo Bussola which has also met with considerable success abroad: it has been translated into France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and other countries.
The idea came from the web, from the page Facebook of the author where he began to tell with irony and a lively language his experience as a father. Also the director and comedian Francesco Mandelli (one of the Usual idiots. You remember him as the foul-mouthed father Ruggero De Ceglie?) had written a book called My daughter is a spaceship, where he talks about his experience as a parent through a story that combines fun and reality.
