Dave Navarro makes a short process: reunification of Jane’s Addiction will no longer exist. The band’s reunion came to its abrupt and painful end in 2024 – triggered by an escalated appearance in Boston. Guitarist Dave Navarro now expresses himself openly about the moment that, according to him, “destroyed the band’s life forever”.

A Night to Remember: September 13th in Boston

In an interview with “Guitar Player”, the Red Hot-Chili-Peppers guitarist was asked, which appearance in his career was least liked. His answer came without hesitation: Gig September 13, 2024 in Boston.

No wonder: this appearance was a conflict that singer attacked Perry Farrell Navarro. The incident spread quickly on social media. Shortly afterwards the band canceled the rest of the tour. Officially, it was said that “persistent misconduct and the psychological problems of our singer Perry Farrell” were the reason for the abrupt end.

“There was a dispute on the stage – and all the hard work, the dedication, writing, the hours in the studio, the breaking of home, crossing the country and Europe, trying to overcome my illness – all of this came to a standstill and destroyed the band’s life forever,” says Navarro. He categorically excludes another reunion: “There is no chance that we will ever play together again.”

A tour that had started promising

The comeback had initially started promising. Navarro describes how fulfilling the tour had been for him until then: “There were a few shows on our last tour last year in Europe, where Eric Avery was back on bass – these were some of my absolute favorite gigs,” he says. “No props, nothing on stage. No dance, no pyro, no show effects. Only we four and a few colorful lights.”

Despite the dumping, Navarro continues to work with his bandmates Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery – but so far to publish without new music.
