Coastal municipalities receive Blue Flag | Focus and WTV

Thirty Belgian beaches, swimming ponds and marinas have received the Blue Flag certificate. With the label, the locations can demonstrate that they attach great importance to sustainability and quality. The list also includes five Belgian coastal municipalities.

GoodPlanet Belgium, the organization behind the Flemish version of Blue Flag, issued the Blue Flag certificates. Blue Flag is an international quality label that rewards operators who make extra efforts in the field of awareness and education, water quality, separate waste sorting, a first aid post, the presence of lifeguards, clean toilets, but also educational activities and accessibility. A recognizable label makes it clear to the holiday maker whether he is visiting a place where sustainability and quality are considered important.
