For the first time since 1997, the Den Bosch hockey players missed out on a place in the final of the major league play-offs. Archrival Amsterdam was 1-0 too strong in Den Bosch.

The hockey players from Den Bosch have reached the final 24 times in a row. Of all those times they took the national title 21 times. This year, for the first time in a long time, they will not have a chance. The play-offs were canceled in 2020 due to the corona virus.

Equalizer rejected
Sabine Plönissen was the only one to score, the Amsterdam player did that via the stick of opponent Sanne Koolen. In the last minute, Den Bosch’s equalizer was rejected because the ball was worked into the goal with the convex side of the stick.

On Thursday, Amsterdam and Den Bosch had held each other at 1-1. The Amsterdam hockey players will compete against SCHC or Hurley in the final.
