Coach Torsten Lieberknecht from the second division soccer team Darmstadt 98 has tested positive for the corona virus.
The club announced this on Saturday, Lieberknecht will be represented by his assistant Kai Peter Schmitz in the Lilien game on Sunday (1:30 p.m. / Sky) at Hannover 96. The 48-year-old Lieberknecht has mild symptoms and is fully vaccinated.
“Now I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the team on television at home. But I have complete confidence in the players and also in the coaching staff,” said Lieberknecht: “I’m fine myself, apart from cold symptoms. However, at 1.30 p.m. I had a massive lily break – Fever off.”
