Overweight? Haaland counters Guardiola’s threat

Manchester City’s coach makes a clear announcement before the holidays. The Norwegian has now reacted to Pep Guardiola’s statement – and posted his weight.
Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland responded to Pep Guardiola’s post-holiday weight control announcement with a humorous Instagram post. In one photo he shows himself on the scales weighing 94.4 kilograms and comments with a wink: “Everything is good!”.
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola announced plans to weigh players after the holidays to check for possible weight gain – and threatened that players who gained too much weight over the holidays may not be considered for the upcoming Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.
“They come back on the 25th and I will be there to check how many kilos they have gained,” Guardiola said. Players who were in top shape before Christmas and weighed three kilos more afterwards would “stay in Manchester” and not travel to Nottingham.
However, Haaland, who is already indispensable for Manchester City this season with 25 goals in 23 competitive games, is unlikely to be affected. His humorous approach to the situation shows that he is confident in his form. However, it remains to be seen how other players will react to Guardiola’s strict measures.
