It is sensible that the Netherlands does not participate in the American diplomatic boycott of the winter games. It is wiser to work with other European countries, believes Frans-Paul van der Putten of the China Center of the Clingendael Institute. “If the Netherlands starts boycotting China, China will not notice much,” says Van der Putten.
