China registered a strong earthquake of 6.9 degrees this Saturday, January 8 in western Qinghai province which at the moment has left no fatalities, reports the official press.
The tremor occurred at 1:45 a.m. local time (5:45 p.m. GMT on Friday) in an area of ”sparse population” more than 3,600 meters above sea level, with an epicenter 10 kilometers deep. The state television CGTN points out that, for now, There have only been reports of “minor damage” to some houses in the area and the collapse of many stables.
