Castricummer, 74, who was arrested last week on suspicion of selling the deadly Drug X, has been released. Conditions are attached to the suspension of his pre-trial detention.
The man must, among other things, be available for questions from the police and may not sell the deadly Drug X during the suspension. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) confirms this after reporting from the NHD†
According to the OM, an investigation showed that more than five hundred people have placed an order with the man. The Public Prosecution Service links at least four deaths to the online trade of the Castricummer.
What is Medium X?

The organization has been committed to self-determination around the deathbed since 2013 and states that the powder leads to a humane death. Possession is not a crime, but trade in it is.
De Volkskrant wrote a number of penetrating stories about users of the substance, often seriously physically or mentally ill. People who were with their dying loved ones, but also doctors, argue that dying from Drug X is not humane at all.
It started with two deaths: in Breda someone died last year under suspicious circumstances and in Zeeland relatives filed a report after the death of their loved one. An investigation then showed that both had taken Middel X and had bought it via the internet. The Public Prosecution Service tracked down the Castricummer via the postal package with which the so-called suicide powder was delivered to one of the people.
In addition to the suspicion of the trade in the suicide powder, the Castricummer is also suspected of money laundering: he is said to have earned a large amount of money from the trade in X. The justice system does not want to disclose how much money is involved in the interest of the investigation.
