Caroline Tensen in lift up after keel hauling One against 50: ‘Logical’

Caroline Tensen is on the rise now that she has renamed her TV show One against 50 to One against 100. Logical, says Tina Nijkamp. “That format was also half the fun.”

At the start of the corona crisis, when no more than a hundred people were allowed to be present in one studio, the TV classic One against 100 was overhauled. It suddenly became One against 50 and presenter Caroline Tensen actually liked that very much. “Because fifty is much, much more fun, for everyone.”

Again One against 100

Actually, with a hundred people in the audience, it was normal too muchCaroline then said. “It was a lot, it was impersonal and now we have 50 and we like it so much.”

It has been so good that One against 50 has become One against 100 again since yesterday. Seems to be much, much more fun, for everyone. And especially for Peter van der Vorst, because the viewing figures are not disappointing. The first episode of the One against 100-revival attracted 916 thousand viewers (20 percent market share) to RTL 4 last night.

Very logical

According to viewing figure prophet Tina Nijkamp, this is a good score. “Caroline is number one at half past eight. Now that it is 1 against 100 instead of 1 against 50, there are also 200,000 more viewers than in the first three weeks of last spring. As I wrote back then: the format is half the fun with fifty people in the audience.”

Caroline succeeds Chantal Janzen, who disappointed a bit with Beat the Champions in the past eleven weeks. “It would also be better for RTL 4 to shorten that to one hour.”

Dennis disappoints

The biggest disappointment of the evening? Dennis van der Geest with his TV flop Million Dollar Island, this time good for 346 thousand viewers (8 percent) on SBS 6. “It costs millions, but it doesn’t yield a penny. Only 346 thousand viewers and scores almost as much as the 0 euro repeat of Buying Without Watching on RTL 5.”

She continues: “What an expensive setback, also for Dennis van der Geest, and it is also strange that a second season has been ordered at all. The first did not score well last year. But this 346 thousand viewers is even worse and is almost heading towards Alles is Muziek numbers.”
