Cancer researcher tests heat therapy after he lost his mother to pancreatic cancer: “She would have loved this”

At the University Hospital of Antwerp, the medical start-up ElmediX is conducting clinical studies into heat therapy for metastatic cancer. Warming a patient’s body to 41.5 degrees would shrink tumors. The first target group will be patients with pancreatic cancer, because CEO John-Paul Bogers (57) saw his mother die from it. “She was gone in six months. That has to be done better.”
