Hoffenheim fast with game control
Hoffenheim took control of the game after just a few minutes. Munas Dabbur already had the lead after three minutes, but shot the ball well over the goal after a corner. Eight minutes later, Fürth’s goalkeeper Andreas Linde had no problem with Andrej Kramaric’s shot being too weak.
The Croatian should be the center of attention more often in the first half. After a cross from Ihlas Bebou, Kramaric was in a position to finish, but it took too long to control the ball (20′).
Itter saves against Kramaric
Four minutes later the striker had the best chances in the game so far. After a corner, the ball ended up at Kramaric via detours. But because Luca Itter got his foot on the ball, the ball just missed the right post (24′).
On the other hand, there was nothing to be seen from the Fürthern offensive. It was only shortly before the break that the Hoffenheim penalty area got dicey for the first time. Jamie Leweling crossed into the penalty area from the right to Julian Green. However, Pavel Kaderabek prevented the Fürth player from completing the game. As a result, it was 0-0 in the cabins.
Posch suffers a laceration
The second round started with a moment of shock. Hoffenheim’s Stefan Posch and Diadié Samassékou banged their heads in midfield. The game was interrupted for several minutes before Posch was substituted with a head laceration.
After the break, the game association invested significantly more in the offensive game than in the first half. Things got dangerous after 62 minutes: TSG keeper Oliver Baumann deflected a shot from Green around the post.
Lack of penetration on both sides
During this phase, the game shifted more and more into Hoffenheim’s half. Fürth, who had not scored in the previous three games, lacked any precision or penetrating power on offense. Conversely, that also meant more space for TSG. But Hoffenheim didn’t manage any dangerous deals either.
However, Linde had to intervene five minutes before the end. Kramaric came free 16 meters in front of the goal. His shot came too central, however, so that Linde was able to clear. In added time, TSG pressed again. Jakob Bruun Larsen headed a cross from Robert Skov wide in the last few seconds.
