For a little more than 20 minutes it looked as if SV UNION Halle-Neustadt could cause problems for league leaders HSG Blomberg-Lippe, but then the class prevailed. BSV Sachsen Zwickau is currently still in action.
As expected, the handball players from SV UNION Halle-Neustadt lost the away game at HSG Blomberg-Lippe. On Tuesday (December 30, 2025), the “Wildcats” lost 23:34 (13:17) and are still waiting for their first point of the season after nine games.
After a short period of discovery (1:4/5th minute), Ines Seidler’s team kept up well and at times acted on an equal footing with the league leaders. Thanks to an aggressive defense, Halle repeatedly posed problems for their opponents. After 22 minutes it was 10:10. But then the favorite shifted up a gear shortly before the break, and the mistakes from the Saxony Anhalts increased. So we went into the break with a four-goal deficit.
After the break it becomes clear
The “Wildcats” found it difficult to get back into the game, and the hosts were now gaining ground. Only three goals in the first ten minutes of the second period allowed the deficit to grow further. Again and again the attack was played too hastily and finished too hastily. In the end the defeat became clear. The best thrower of the game was Ona Vegue Pena for Blomberg with seven goals. Emma Hertha was the most successful for Halle with five goals.
Next weekend, SV UNION will continue at home with the basement duel against Buxtehuder SV. If the Seidler team can build on the first 20 minutes from the Blomberg game, the chances of getting their first points this season are good.
