After a first location in Charleroi, there is now also a Cyber Defense Factory in Bruges. That decision came under the impetus of Flemish MP Jasper Pillen, who made the link between Defense and Hogeschool Howest, known for its training in cyber security.
Bruges was chosen because of its strong knowledge institutions, the proximity of defense companies and military quarters, and the strategic location by the sea. The new location must ensure close cooperation between defense, education and industry. In this way, the Ministry of Defense also wants to work on stronger cyber resilience in Flanders.
