Britney Spears: I still dream of spitting in their faces

Instead of being healed, she became ill. In 2019, Jamie Spears (68) committed his superstar daughter Britney Spears (40) to a psychiatric hospital – against her will. Now Britney has spoken publicly about how traumatized she was by the experience. The message: a clear reckoning with her family.

On Instagram (via “billboard”) Britney wrote in a very detailed and emotional post: “I regret that in my life and my 40 years. If I could turn back time, I’d spit in their stupid f***ing faces!”

Spears has since deleted her post, but her words were already online. They express enormous anger and a lack of understanding for the behavior of their family, especially their father Jamie. He was the guardian of Britney to the end and thus also had the power to make decisions about her.

Her accusation: her time in the clinic would have brought about her depression in the first place. “Depression builds up in your head during dark moments,” says Britney. The time spent in the clinic would have increased the disease by 100 percent.

The singer had to be treated for almost a month, at least that’s what has been reported so far. In reality it should have been longer. According to Britney, she was locked up for four months.

She writes of a “four-month experience”. When she asked to leave after the first few weeks, she was instructed to sign up to undergo a two-month program. She would then have had to go to another facility for another month.

Britney: “I had to sit in a chair eight hours a day and drain eight gallons of blood a week.” That’s the equivalent of 30 liters.

The singer ended up thinking she had cancer and was unknowingly undergoing some form of chemotherapy. “My family fucking killed me,” Britney said of her dark times.

Her hatred is not only for her father, but also for her sister Jamie Lynn (30). The two were once inseparable, but the legal battle over Britney’s guardianship tore them apart. Because Jamie Lynn turned against her sister.

Low point: When Jamie Lynn cried about her sister on TV and revealed false information, according to Britney. The Spears sisters are now hounding each other’s lawyers and publicly exchanging insults on social media.

At least the story has a good development: Britney won her fight for guardianship last year and is now allowed to determine her own life, is engaged and wants to finally marry her long-term boyfriend.

And start a new family with him that gives her support.
