Recommendations of the editorial team
Anyone who celebrated the first three seasons of “Bridgerton” can now be happy: the next season should be released in 2026, and the two following have now also been confirmed by Netflix.
So far, the relationship drama of three Bridgerton children has already been tracked on the screens. After Daphne, Anthony and Colin, the love story of the second oldest son of the family, Benedict (Luke Thompson), is to be told in the next season.
Anyone who knows the series of novels to the series already knows that they will get to know Sophie Baek. How exactly the relationship between the two develops will not be shown until 2026. A first trailer suggests that at least from Benedict’s side is love at first glance.
According to the press release, Yerer Ha, who will play the new character, said about her role: “What attracted me to Sophie was that she immediately encountered obstacles – she has to overcome a bit. Whether it is the struggle for social status or an attempt to hide her feelings from Benedict.”
Well -known faces and new characters in “Bridgerton”
Also new in the coming season are the sisters Rosamund and Posy Li, played by Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei, as well as their mother Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung). Otherwise, one seems to meet numerous known faces again, because all other characters are played by the usual actors: inside.
Netflix also revealed via “Tudum” that the friendship between Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie), which had its ups and downs in the previous seasons, is also being followed. “They are closer than ever,” said Jess Brownell, showrunner and producer of the series. “Your challenges and setbacks in the last season have given your friendship new depth. We are excited to see what your relationship will look like now because both of them have become a bit adult.”
Book series provides material for a total of eight seasons
The Netflix series “Bridgerton” is based on the series of novels by Julia Quinn. In each of the eight books, one of the children of the Bridgerton family tells of the love and relationship drama, and how the characters find their way around the London high society of the 19th century.
In the upcoming seasons, Eloise, Francesca, Hyacinth or Gregory could play the central role.
