Brandt: “Don’t think my time is up”

Dortmund (AP) – National soccer player Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund is hoping to return to the DFB team soon.

“I don’t think my time in the national team is over. I had an annoying kink, but I won’t let it get me down,” said the BVB professional after training.

The attacking midfielder, who has made 36 international appearances so far, only made one brief appearance last year. “It wasn’t nice not being there for a year, you have to swallow that first,” said the 25-year-old. “I’m in good contact with the national coach. For me it’s just a matter of staying tuned,” said Dortmund, who was in the World Cup squad in 2018 and played all group games.

Next up for Brandt in the Bundesliga is a duel with his former club Bayer Leverkusen. “I’m looking forward to it. Those were always turbulent games against Bayer. We just have to continue where we left off,” said the BVB professional. Even a possible failure of Erling Haaland cannot spoil the joy of the game. “We’re not afraid of the next few weeks just because Erling is injured. We have good guys,” said Brandt.
