The parties accuse each other of provocation. The head of the border service of Kyrgyzstan went to resolve the situation on the spot
On the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, members of the border troops of the two countries staged a shootout. According to edition 24kg, the Tajik military uses, among other things, mortars and grenade launchers.
Edition “Fergana” informsthat as a result of the conflict there are wounded, and one of the border villages had to be partially evacuated.
Bishkek and Dushanbe blame each other for what is happening. In Tajikistan claimthat it all started with the fact that the Kyrgyz began to throw stones at cars with Tajik numbers. In Kyrgyzstan, they say that the conflict was started by neighbors who unilaterally blocked the Batken-Isfana highway crossing the border.
Kyalbek Tolonbaev, head of the Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan, went to the area of the scene of the incident. From the Tajik side, the mayor of the city of Isfana Bahovaddin Bakhodurzoda tried to conduct negotiations with the Kyrgyz.
Electricity cut off in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan
The total length of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is 970 km. There are no agreements on 460 km, and therefore conflicts periodically arise when both states declare their claims to one or another section.
Last April, a conflict over a camera that the Tajik military hung from a pole in disputed territory led to a series of clashes. A few days later, the parties managed to agree on a ceasefire.
