Outgoing minister Stef Blok (Economic Affairs and Climate) says that extra gas extraction in the province of Groningen is necessary for the energy supply of German households and the delayed construction of a nitrogen factory near Zuidbroek in Groningen. On Friday it was announced that more gas may have to be extracted this year than planned.
