Blinken allowed Russia’s “military aggression” against Ukraine this week

Russia could launch an invasion of Ukraine this week, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with France 24. Text published on the State Department website.

“An act of aggression starting this week is quite possible if you look at what is happening with the deployment of Russian forces in areas around Ukraine,” he said.

Blinken noted that Russia is pulling more troops to the border with Ukraine instead of de-escalating. The United States continues to insist on a diplomatic path, but it is ready to repel aggression together with European partners in the event of an invasion, the Secretary of State said.

Zakharova called the CBS publication about the invasion a “selective falsification”

Since autumn, Western media and politicians have been calling different dates for a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine. First they talked about the attack in January, then Bloomberg wrote that the invasion would take place on February 15. US President Joe Biden, in conversations with partners, called February 16 the date of the attack, Politico wrote. The British tabloid The Sun, citing US intelligence data, specified that Russia was attacking Ukraine at 4 am Moscow time.
