Telstar had a strange weekend. On Sunday it was 0-0 against Almere City FC. On Saturday, trainer Andries Jonker and assistant coach Michael Dingsdag tested positive. “We had no trainers left at the time, so our equipment man gave us training,” said defender Jip Molenaar.

Rory Roubos, head of youth training, was also invited to give Telstar training on Saturday. “A bizarre situation, but we also live in bizarre times. We were shocked for a while. Our equipment man Dirk van der Lugt started training and later Rory came,” says Molenaar.

In the end, Dingsdag turned out not to be positive after a PCR test. He sat on the couch with Anthony Correia and Uli Landvreugd. Trainer Andries Jonker watched the game from home.
