Biathlon Otepää Women: Live ticker – 12.5km mass start

15:46

Öberg tries to get away

Of course, Elvira Öberg immediately tries to pick up the pace in order to set herself apart from the athletes behind her. She has put a few meters between herself and Røiseland, which Herrmann has in tow.

15:44

last shooting

It strikes immediately! Elvira Öberg hits everything and is the first starter in the final round. Marte Olsbu Røiseland is close behind in second ahead of Linn Persson. Denise Herrmann is 3.8 seconds behind and is therefore still in the middle of the race for the podium. Preuss is fifth. Vanessa Voigt, who once again hits all the targets, follows in sixth place.

15:43

last shooting

Franziska Preuss comes to her last shooting. Does she have her nerves under control and get the win? The first target falls and the second shot hits the mark. But then the mistake comes and she has to turn into the round. How is the competition reacting now?

15:40

Prussia with a small lead

At 8.7 kilometers, Franziska Preuß gained a small lead of 18.5 seconds. Behind her is a group of four led by Marte Olsbu Røiseland. Vanessa Voigt fell back to seventh place and was recently overtaken by Denise Herrmann.

15:39

Simon knocked off

French Julia Simon is one of the starters who have been knocked off. With four mistakes, the co-favorite is only 29. Vanessa Hinz should not be happy with her race so far either. She also had four discs in the previous race.

15:38

3. Shoot

Denise Herrmann can work her way up the field, who now remains flawless and returns to the track in seventh place. ÖSV biathlete Hauser will be annoyed. After two penalties, she is down in 17th place. Elisa Gasparin is now flawless, but in 20th place is already a long way behind.

15:37

3. Shoot

It’s time for the third shooting and now all the targets have to fall in the standing position. Franziska Preuß, who is now taking the lead, succeeds! For her part, Olsbu Røiseland has to make a turn on the penalty loop. A chance that Elvira Öberg uses to pass and Vanessa Voigt also slips past. Like Preuss, she hits all the targets for the third time!

15:35

Voigt runs together with Eckhoff

Vanessa Voigt is currently running together with Tiril Eckhoff. They are 15 seconds behind the leading group. Close behind is Elvira Öberg, who had one penalty in the second standing stage.

15:34

trio at the top

Franziska Preuss doesn’t let herself be shaken off and stays close to Marte Olsbu Røiseland. Linn Persson is also still there. They now have ten seconds to ÖSV starter Hauser.

15:31

2. Shoot

Vanessa Voigt is sixth with five goals. 14.9 seconds separate them from the leader. Denise Herrmann, who is now 50 seconds down, had to go into the penalty loop once more. The Swiss Elisa Gasparin cannot avoid the penalty loop either. Vanessa Hinz made two mistakes, dropping back to 29th place.

15:30

2. Shoot

The athletes are back at the shooting range and once again they have to hit the targets in prone. Marte Olsbu Røiseland makes amends and is the first to get back on track. But she can’t break away again! Persson is second and Franziska Preuss starts almost at the same time as her competitor from Norway. Lisa Theresa Hauser also sunk five shots. She goes back on track fourth.

15:28

Voigt and Hinz in the second group

Vanessa Voigt and Vanessa Hinz are currently in the second group. With a deficit of 13.5 seconds, the gap to the leading group is only small.

15:26

dense field

Since many athletes shot clean or had few penalties, the field is tight after the first shooting and many still have the opportunity to grab a podium place.

15:25

Eight athletes in the top group

Eight athletes are currently in the slipstream of World Cup leaders Røiseland in the top group. Right in the middle is Franziska Preuss from the DSV team. Elisa Gasparin dropped out of the group.

15:23

1. Shoot

The biathletes come together for the first shooting. First, you shoot in the prone position. Marte Olsbu Røiseland does this the quickest and safest. However, many starters made it through without making mistakes and so it remains really tight at the top. Preuss is third ahead of Elisa Gasparin from Switzerland. Austria’s Hauser is ninth, 5.8 seconds back. Hinz and Voigt also got through without a mistake. Denise Herrmann and Franziska Hildebrand have one penalty loop.

15:20

field together

After the first kilometers the group with the 30 starters is still close together and nobody fell out. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet from the French team took first place.

15:17

Öberg sisters set the pace

At the beginning the Öberg sisters take the lead to dictate the pace. Then come the French and Olsbu Røiseland.

15:15

Here we go!

The field of 30 starters goes on the track. In the first few meters, as usual, it is important to avoid falls and damage to the material in the tumult at the start.

15:09

Who do you have to reckon with?

The list of favorites should be long today, because a mass start is known to write its own rules. After winning the sprint, Julia Simon is considered a hot contender for the win, but the Norwegians and the Öberg sisters from Sweden also want to play a role.

15:05

Swiss women with Elisa Gasparin

The team from Switzerland is just as small. There is currently no athlete among the top 25 in the World Cup. After all, Elisa Gasparin was able to qualify thanks to her performance in yesterday’s sprint. All other Swiss women will have to watch today.

14:57

Just an Austrian

The starting field reflects the mixed season of the Austrians. Only Lisa Theresa Hauser is in the mass start today. If things go well at the shooting range, she can certainly be expected again.

14:51

Will the DSV women strike again?

Yesterday’s sprint was extremely successful for the German biathletes and with places two and four Vanessa Voigt and Denise Herrmann should start today’s competition with a lot of self-confidence. In addition to them, Vanessa Hinz, Franziska Preuss and Franziska Hildebrand also made it into the starting field of the mass start.

14:47
