Better than McDavid and Crosby – the future superstar of the NHL met unconscious powers

Connor Bedard’s last regular season game in the WHL ended last night with an overwhelming victory in terms of points and goals.

Connor Bedard’s season’s point haul grew to insane proportions. PDO

For a long time, there has been no doubt about the next NHL draft pick. Those who follow the sport even a little know that the team that gets the first turn calls itself a Canadian superjunnu by Connor Bedard.

On the night between Sunday and Monday Finnish time, Bedard said goodbye to the regular season of the junior league WHL by scoring a goal. It was the 71st cage and 143rd power point of the season. The center forward played 57 games, so his average points per game was a record 2.51.

Bedard missed matches during the season, for example due to national team obligations, but despite them won the points market with a difference of 36 points to the next one. He won the goal exchange with 21 hits.

And we shouldn’t forget Bedard’s wonderful journey in the winter under-20 world championships, where he won the kingship of points with 9+14. Canada and Berard, the most valuable player of the Games, captured gold from the Games, just like earlier in August, when the Winter 2022 Games were played in a repeat round.

The new Crosby?

Sidney Crosby won the first of his three Stanley Cups in 2008. PDO

When a 17-year-old forges such readings on the board, one inevitably talks about an exceptional talent. Bedard has been compared to the next cover boy of the NHL for a reason, who can withstand the comparisons to Sidney Crosby and after that to the number one to Connor McDavid. These gentlemen were also the kings of the junior series.

Crosby played in his last season before NHL stardom in the QMJHL, scoring 168 points in 62 regular season games. In the following season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he scored 102 points.

McDavid’s performance was the most moderate when he scored 120 points in 47 games in the OHL and 48 points in 45 games as a rookie in the Edmonton Oilers, but since then he has exceeded the 100-point mark in all but one NHL season.

Quality age range

The next NHL booking event will be held on the 28th-29th. June. Athletic estimates that either a Canadian will be booked after Bedard Adam Fantilli or playing in the KHL Matvei Mitskov. Both are described as players at the level of the first reserve, which is why the bottom clubs of the NHL should continue in the downward trend.

The jumbo of the NHL regular season has the best chance to get the first round. So far, the core of the deck is Jarmo Kekäläinen managed by the Columbus Blue Jackets and San Jose Sharks. The Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks are also nearby.

From a Finnish point of view, the preliminary list of Athletic’s booking event looks bad. The expert did not come up with a single Finnish name by Corey Pronman 34 to the list of talented juniors. From a Slovakian who can be found in position 29 With Maxim Strbak there is a connection to Finland, as he has played in the junior teams of the Pelicans and the Jokers.

Connor McDavid already won the NHL point exchange in his second season. He was also awarded as the season’s most valuable player. PDO
