Belarusian CSTO peacekeepers flew out of Kazakhstan – RBC

The Belarusian peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO flew out of Kazakhstan on ten planes, the planes will land in the Minsk region. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, reports “RIA News”.

“[Белорусские миротворцы] flew from the Zhytygen airfield to the Minsk region, ”the ministry said in a statement.

Military personnel from Armenia and Tajikistan will also be delivered on board the Russian military transport aviation to their places of permanent deployment. The Armenian peacekeeping contingent has already completed loading onto Russian aircraft, the Defense Ministry specified. Employees of the Kyrgyz peacekeeping contingent will return to their places of permanent deployment on their own using standard equipment, the ministry added.

Putin said that the CSTO forces should return home

14 Russian aircraft will be used to evacuate the military of Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said. He specified that the CSTO peacekeepers would leave Kazakhstan within five days along with the transfer of protected objects to the local authorities. The planned completion date for the withdrawal of forces is January 19, the defense minister said.
