Before Federer farewell: Europe expands leadership

Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas gave Team Europe a 2-0 lead on Roger Federer’s last day’s work at the Laver Cup.

The Norwegian Ruud first defeated the American Jack Sock in London 6:4, 5:7, 10:7. Tsitsipas (Greece) then easily defeated Argentinian Diego Schwartzman 6-2, 6-1.

Federer (41) sat as a spectator on the players’ bench, who met Rafael Nadal in the last match of his career in the evening against the US double Sock / Frances Tiafoe. Before that, the Scot Andy Murray will play against Alex de Minaur from Australia in the night session.

Europe have all won the previous four editions of the clash against selections from the rest of the world. In the Laver Cup, there is one point for every win on the first day, two points on the second day and three points on the third day. The winner is the first team to get 13 points.
