Nine infected players
Bayern were nine points behind after the first quarter against strong players from Chemnitz. As a result, the Munich team struggled against a well-organized defense of the home side and could not get close in the second half either.
At Bayern, nine players had recently tested positive for the corona virus. Nevertheless, they won against the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt on Sunday with 72:53 (39:18). The BBL had rejected a request from Munich to relocate the game.
Bonn could draw level
On Wednesday, second-placed Telekom Baskets Bonn can draw level with Bayern Munich by beating bottom team s.Oliver Würzburg.
