From August 8, the use of the colorant titanium dioxide (E171) is prohibited in foodstuffs. The European Commission already reached an agreement on this in January, but the FPS Public Health is now providing some more details. Sector federation Fevia emphasizes that many producers have already found an alternative, but that for some companies the transition period of six months is very short.
