Dow Jones-the demand for workers in Germany continued to drop in February. The job index of the Federal Employment Agency (BA-X) fell by 2 points to 103 points, as the Federal Agency announced. “With this decline, the value continues its downward movement and the demand for strength remains weak,” said the BA. Compared to February 2024, the BA-X lost 11 points.
In all sectors, the reported labor question has dropped compared to the same month in the previous year, partly in a double -digit percentage amount. The percentage declines in qualified company services, in the hospitality industry as well as banks, finance and insurance companies, followed by information and communication and the processing industry are particularly strong. Absolutely viewed, the largest declines in qualified company services and in the processing industry are recorded.
The BA-X depicts the workforce issue on the first job market. While the unemployment figures react to economic changes with a few months of delay, the willingness of companies to hire new employees is considered an early signal for developments on the labor market.
