Austrian Ruttensteiner no longer coaches Israel

Tel Aviv (AP) – The Austrian Willi Ruttensteiner is no longer team boss of the Israeli national soccer team. As the Israel Football Association announced, the 59-year-old and those responsible have agreed to terminate the contract, which runs until the summer.

Marco Belbul, Ruttensteiner’s assistant, will prepare Israel for the friendlies against the German national team in Sinsheim on March 26 and against Romania. Ruttensteiner has been sporting director at the Israeli federation since summer 2018 and national coach since January 2021.
