Arie Boomsma comes up with a strong insult to the viewers of Today Inside and Johan Derksen resents that. “He just puts 500,000 people in the corner!”
It is no secret that Arie Boomsma and the men of Today Inside are each other’s opposites. The dumbbell minister has been ridiculed countless times on the talk show, but now he is hitting back. In the latest edition of Playboy he says really unkind things about the SBS 6 program and especially about its viewers.
Half VI viewers
Arie states that half of the viewers of that program, about 500 thousand people, are not good. “These are not people I would ever ask for advice. They are in no way an authority in the field of sports and health, which I always speak out about, but they do give their viewers a license to find something too.”
He continues: “Half of the people who watch this program are the same group that used to stand in the school yard and watch when someone was beaten up or laughed at. They are followers, and there are also a few who really have right-wing, racist, sexual, intimidating, misogynistic and homophobic views.”
Grouchers
According to Arie, the enormous support base of Today Inside is simply terrible. “The dissatisfied grumblers in our country, but I do not want to comment further on this program.”
What a disgusting guy, Johan Derksen responds at the table Today Inside. “What sets me apart from that jellyfish is that I don’t spend entire days in a dirty ditch in Grolloo with only my head above water. If he thinks we’re bastards, he has every right, but if he dismisses half of our viewers as stupid creeps…”
Lamp cotton
You just can’t say that, says Johan. “That’s 500,000 people he’s just putting in a corner. You bastard lampcotton!”
Table guest Job Knoester: “He is the only man who has ever made my clients angry, because I once said: ‘Boomsma looks like a TBS patient.’ I received all kinds of angry phone calls: ‘We don’t want to be compared to Arie Boomsma.’ They were really angry with me.”
Attention G**l
That man is a serious attention seeker, Johan concludes. “He is so proud of himself, he likes to be interviewed by Playboy. He allows himself to be interviewed by anyone who will pay him attention!”
