The Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Judi Mesman as a member of the Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR). She is professor of Social Responsibility and Impact at Leiden University. She will continue to fulfill that position in addition to her WRR membership.
Mesman studied psychology in Leiden and obtained his PhD in child psychiatry in Rotterdam. She has held various positions at Leiden University, where she has been a professor since 2009. She was scientific director of the Institute of Educational Sciences and dean of Leiden University College.
Mesman has been appointed for a first term until the end of the term of the current council, which expires on December 31, 2027. With the arrival of Mesman, the council has nine members.
