Mr. RW (Roelof) Bleker will be the new mayor of the municipality of Enschede. On the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers has decided to nominate him for appointment. The appointment will take effect on February 1, 2022.
Mr Bleker (54 years old) is not a member of any political party. He is currently chairman of the Executive Board of the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU).
Theo Bovens (CDA) is currently acting mayor of Enschede.
