The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination of State Secretary Van Huffelen of the Interior and Kingdom Relations for the appointment of the new Deputy Government Commissioner of Sint Eustatius: Ms N. (Nicoline) van der Linden-Geertsema.

The new deputy government commissioner will start her duties on 15 June. She succeeds Mrs. Claudia Toet, who will be working as director of the Tax and Customs Administration of the Caribbean Netherlands at the Tax and Customs Administration on Bonaire.

Nicoline van der Linden is an experienced manager with broad political and administrative experience.

From 2020 to the present, she was deputy program director of the Program Directorate Strengthening and Perspective Groningen, for the Ministries of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) and Economic Affairs and Climate.

At the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, she was deputy head of the Social Domain department of the Administration, Finance and Regions Directorate and previously served as deputy head of the Purchase and Capital Market department of the Housing Market Directorate. From 2009 to early 2016, Ms Van der Linden was head of the Kingdom Relations department at the Kingdom Relations Department.
