On a proposal from Foreign Minister Hoekstra, the Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Jack Twiss Quarles van Ufford as ambassador to Vilnius. The appointment will not be final until the Lithuanian government has given its approval.
Jack Twiss Quarles van Ufford is currently Director of Intelligence at the AIVD. Previously, he was adviser on Foreign Affairs and Defense to the Cabinet of the Prime Minister. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was, among other things, a representative to the Palestinian Authority, head of the political department in Washington and private secretary to the minister for development cooperation.
