Another five watercourses in Wallonia in pre-alarm phase | Inland

Due to the abundant rain of recent days in the south of the country, five waterways in Wallonia are still in the pre-alert phase for flooding. These are the Eau Blanche (Hainaut and Namur), the Lesse (Namur), the Semois, the Chiers and the Vierre (all three in the province of Luxembourg). This is reported by the website of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Waterways of the Walloon public service.

The RMI has announced code yellow until 1 am due to persistent rain.

Yesterday afternoon, the fire brigade of Picardy Wallonia had to intervene fifteen times for flooding and mudslides on the public road. The municipalities of Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, Ath, Rebaix and Lessen were particularly affected by the torrential rains.

The fire brigade mainly had to empty private cellars and clean sewer mouths and streets. There were also many roads blocked by mudslides. On the A8/E429 highway, near Frasnes, mudslides from the fields ended up in the hard shoulder.
