Anke Buckinx is once again committed to underprivileged children: “A package under the Christmas tree is really not obvious” | showbiz

Anke supports #BuildToGive, LEGO’s year-end campaign. “Until December 31, this hashtag will be active on social media,” explains Anke. “The idea is that as many people as possible build a star out of Lego bricks, share a photo of it and use that hashtag. For every star shared, LEGO donates a package to a child in poverty. We may not realize that enough, but a package under the Christmas tree is really not obvious. Many families lack nothing, but one child in five grows up in poverty. Amazing that this will still be the case in 2021. That means that there are also boys and girls in Lou’s (Anke’s six-year-old daughter, ed.) class who are not so fortunate. And so it is in every class. But what you can specifically do to help, huh? That is often the question.”

According to Anke, this Lego campaign is therefore a very accessible way to tackle that a bit during this year-end period. “Lou is already completely won over by the idea,” says Anke. “I explained to her that not every child has it so easy. We made four stars together, all of which I shared on my social media.”
