World Padel Tour in Holland: Chingotto-Navarro lose at distance in the final. Among the women, another success for the couple that leads the ranking

From Holland comes confirmation of a trend that has been underway for a few weeks now: the absolute dominance of Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia is no longer there, it is only a memory of the first part of the season, in men’s padel today there are at least three more couples able to aspire to final success in the World Padel Tour and Premier Padel tournaments. The Open 1000 in Amsterdam, however, also says that in the women’s field the opposite is true: the distance between the Josemaria-Sanchez queens and their rivals is expanding, rather than contracting.

Male

Coello-Tapia out in the first round, eliminated in three sets by Arroyo and Rubio: who would have ever predicted it? And instead this is exactly what happened, with the number one players in the ranking without any triumphs for over a month now (last smile at Roland Garros in Premier Padel). Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, in clear recovery and winners of the German stage two weeks ago, instead reached the semi-final, where they beat Martin Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk. It was then the turn of the Argentine Superpibes to challenge Federico Chingotto and Paquito Navarro in the final, a couple they had defeated in five out of five previous matches. And Di Nenno-Stupaczuk didn’t give their opponents a chance this time either, taking advantage of Navarro’s usual physical decline at distance: having lost the first set 6-4, the Argentine duo accelerated, easily conquering the other two sets with a clear 6 -2 6-2. Fifth triumph in the last 8 WPT events for the Superpibes.

Female

In the women’s draw, yet another demonstration of superiority for Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez: 12th World Padel Tour tournament won by the Argentine and the Catalan out of the 19 on the calendar so far, a result that marks their record in the rankings between now and the end of the year, whatever what happens in the next few months. In the final in Amsterdam, Josemaria-Sanchez only took risks in the first set against Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, against whom they had to cancel three set points before prevailing in the tie-break. The second set flies by in a flash: 6-0 and tears of joy for Ari, embraced by the partner of many titles.
