Rotterdam follows an American approach to put a stop to the knife violence. The most violent young people in the city receive a clear message from the police, but also from the mother of a teenager stabbed to death: ‘Stop the violence. Anyone who wants help gets it. If you don’t stop, life will be miserable.”
