Amazon raises prices for Prime after profit drop

Online shopping group Amazon recorded a higher turnover in the last quarter of last year, but also had to incur much higher costs. Due to the tight labor market, the tech group had to spend a lot more money on personnel, which resulted in a sharp drop in operating profit. To absorb the extra expenses, the American company is now raising the prices for its best-known subscription, that for streaming service Amazon Prime.
