Alt-J on inspiration for The Dream, drive-thru concerts and The Beatles

“The Dream” is now Alt-J’s fourth album. The Brits become more introspective and their music even more polished. In this interview, Alt-J’s Joe Newman and Gus Unger-Hamilton reflect on how their songwriting process has evolved over the past decade. The future of music in times of the pandemic is also addressed and why the two would rather give drive-in concerts than none at all.

The Brits also reveal what inspires them when it comes to making music and why their creative process can be compared to a piñata. There are also a few tips for aspiring songwriters and finally an answer to the question of which artist the band would most like to work with.

Alt-J can also be seen on a tour of Germany this year. The concerts will be presented by our colleagues from MUSIKEXPRESS.
