“The biggest indie band in the world”: That’s what we called Alt-J on the Musikexpress title of our 04/2015 issue. Their second album THIS IS ALL YOURS had been released a few months earlier, their third and most recent album RELAXER followed in 2017. After that, things went quiet about the experimental rock band from Leeds, UK – until now: Alt-J have theirs on February 11th fourth album THE DREAM released. The band will also be on tour with this record in November. Presented by Musikexpress.

As the first single from THE DREAM, Alt-J members Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green released the song “U&ME” in September 2021, produced by Charlie Andrew. In the accompanying video shot by Unger-Hamilton’s brother Prosper, all band members could be seen for the first time. The video for the second single “Get Better” was reminiscent of click&point adventure computer games like “Monkey Island” and was created by the Hamburg pixel artist Stefanie Grunwald. The third single “Hard Drive Gold”, a song about cryptocurrencies, followed at the beginning of the new year.
Their debut album AN AWESOME WAVE was released in 2012, and Alt-J won the UK Mercury Music Prize that same year.
