The women’s World Cup downhill in Crans Montana had to be canceled due to fog.

The downhill on Saturday (02/25/2023) could not be held due to thick fog on the route. For the alpine around Germany’s Kira Weidle it would have been the first race after the Alpine World Ski Championships in France. A Super-G is scheduled for this Sunday in the Swiss Alps.

The start of the descent was initially postponed by two hours to 1 p.m. on Saturday. When the fog gradually cleared, the slope was too soft and no longer allowed regular competition. “Dangerous conditions,” wrote the world association FIS.
