The Swiss team

With Ramon Zenhäusler and Loïc Meillard, the Swiss have two starters whose turn it will be right at the beginning of the competition. In addition to them, Daniel Yule and Luca Aernie can certainly expect a good result for today. Tanguy Nef, Marc Rochat, Sandro Simonet as well as Reto Schmidiger and Noel von Grünigen will complete the squad.

Straßer leads the DSV team

The DSV team is led by Linus Straßer, who has a podium finish in Adelboden this season. Otherwise, the 29-year-old has not yet achieved much in the slalom apart from a 14th place in Kitzbühel. So it can be important to regain self-confidence in the direction of the Olympics today. Straßer is also the only one who will come in an early starter group. All other German athletes are way down the start list. Anton Tremmel, David Ketterer, Julian Rauchfuss, Fabian Himmelsbach and Alexander Schmid were also nominated.

Feller gets involved again

It was a hair’s breadth for Manuel Feller. The Austrian missed Kitzbühel because of a positive corona test, but was able to test himself free for the night race today. Michael Matt, who had a positive COVID-19 test after his good fourth place, will be missing. Johannes Strolz, who has already had some good results this winter, should also be taken into account. The Austrian team is completed by Marco Schwarz, Fabio Gstrein, Marc Digruber, Dominik Raschner, Joshua Sturm and Kilian Pramstaller, who will make his World Cup debut.

Who gets the win?

The field of favorites is bigger this year than it has been for a long time and there have been five different winners in the previous five slaloms of the winter. But the strong Norwegians with Lucas Braathen, Henrik Kristoffersen and Sebastian Foss-Solevåg should definitely be taken into account. The Frenchman Alexis Pinturault has always managed well on the slope in the past. His teammate Clément Noël is also said to be on the bill. And then there’s David Ryding, who surprised everyone a few days ago.
