Alpine skier Meiners is allowed to go to the Winter Games thanks to the exception of NOC*NSF

Alpine skier Maarten Meiners will make his Olympic debut at the Winter Games in Beijing next month. The born Amersfoorter did not meet the performance requirements of NOC*NSF in the giant slalom section, but is allowed to travel to China thanks to an exception from the sports umbrella. That was announced on Friday.
