The Las Vegas Strip is probably the worst scenario that Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso face this season. An urban circuit with slow curves that already on the first day of action has seen how much it penalizes the AMR25. At the end of a second session marked by two red flags and in which the teams were barely able to draw conclusions, Alonso confirmed the bad omens for the weekend.
“We were expecting a difficult weekend. And I think it’s going to be a difficult weekend. The pace is not very fast right now, but let’s see what we can do for Saturday, because today is a little difficult to read anything because of the red flags. I don’t think anyone completed the last lap, so Let’s see if we find more rhythm”, summed up the Asturian driver, who closed Free Practice 2 in 18th position and the first round, 14th.
Despite the rain that has fallen in the last few hours in Las Vegas, the forecasts indicate that the rest of the weekend will be dry: “The truth is that the rain has not had much influence. Today It rained a little in Free Practice 2, but we have nothing for tomorrow. Let’s see if we get it right and do it well,” Fernando said in statements to F1 TV.
